The design brief for Barley Close was originally just to extend the kitchen and living spaces but after discussions between the builder and Redesign early-on it became apparent a double story extension would compare in terms of budget, given the existing 'one and a half storey' form.
The kitchen benefits from a vaulted ceiling with two rooflights and, along with feature glazing to the underside of the roofline, flood the space with natural light. A larger living room was created for entertaining and upstairs the master bedroom now has an en suite and dressing room with a juliet balcony offering views over fields and woodland.
